Missive, from an alien abode

          Missive, from an alien abode

Years have rolled, and none wanders by!

Melancholic, I trudge with my face awry,

Who? That loved thee, shalt ever forget,

Now in the garden alone, I’m left to fret!

Skilled and very adept, are thy wit and art,

Thou hadst salved often, my gloomy heart,

When distraught, amazed and very aghast,

In my dreamland alone, aye alone I’m lost.

From the fairyland, thou came with range

Of rosy hues, thy prattles and lips engage

With bewitching twinkle, in thy hazel eye,

An unfurled wonder, lambency in the sky!

Iridescent thine eyes, with sparkles aglow,

Thou spur my heart, and its passion’s flow,

The stir within; then rising to a pitch high,

My heart and soul, heaved the single sigh.

Lilies and violets of yore, adorned thine hair,

Gone by mystic aroma, still infuses silent air,

To the brim, soothed thy infant’s measure,

My ecstasy, where’s  the bliss and pleasure?

And unfurled; when down thine tresses fall,

Dancing about shoulders, my heart enthrall,

Their undulations, still sway me all the way,

Caught in dovetails of thy hair, I fall astray!

Trod by love, a young daughter thou came,

The slim and coy girl, of unblemished fame,

And by blissful pliancy, sweetly thou allure,

In my waning years, ye an entrancing cure!

Thou art young and wise, very easy to talk;

Helping limp legs; rosaries we would walk,

My heart asks me “Why are we thus apart?”

Reach close you may, my little sweet-heart.

Now sit by me dear poppet, and be at ease!

Keep thine smiles playing, O my dear please!

Colour thine cheeks soon, till they’re ablaze!

With thine filial flare; gather my loving gaze!

Recall the first greeting, and our hearts beat,

Lo our flushed faces, when first we did meet,

Our hearts were close, nature glued us such,

Ah our fingers locked, and now closer much.

You’d chasten the tempest, my darling sweet,

And soaring high, with the compassion’s heat,

An interlude! Calmness and a tranquil withal,

Ah at my heart’s core, come a flame reinstall.
