Children Sing a Song
Children Sing a Song
Come you all my friends, here’s a swing,
Into the air we rise, grasping silken sling,
Alight on a cozy seat, we bob and dance,
Singing and giggling, our life time chance.
Our breaths streaming behind in calm air,
Hearts to throats and flushed faces so fair
Shouting and screaming into the airs high,
Bliss steals over us, no fortune would buy.
And hurriedly to the swing we wouldst blast,
With our rambling eyes, shouting and aghast,
A push here, a pull there, aye panting we run.
As ‘twas a journey to the sky, we make a fun!
Surfeit with the ecstatic joy we slip and glide,
Undaunted and daring, we oft’ frisk and slide,
Steeling swiftly thru mob to lofty posts there,
Chortling, chuckling and smirking, playing fair.
Giggling, writhing, and together we shall cling,
In the cool breeze, flirting with flowers we sing,
Chuckling and laughing; over the unruly throng,
Enchanting slogans, bejeweling our loved song.
One, two, three and numerous strides leaped.
Whizzing, yelling, breathless in sweat steeped
We picture the truthful genre of the fairy lore,
Winged swiftly over the top of town and soar!
Rallying, plunged on every bump and each turn,
Enclosed in the cheering crowd, we make a fun,
Lovers to smack a rap on the downward sweep,
Hair playing about, eyes beaming, we will keep.
Near the crowd we plunge aye to swing around,
Roaring chortles; in wonted hilarity we abound,
Giggling and slithering; amongst them as we go,
Luck smiles; we orchestrate our rhythmic flow!
