A mystic Cruise

              A mystic Cruise

I wouldst live yonder, by a green hill,

Lounging, afar from charm and thrill,

And never a soul may wander by me,

Or breeze, silently drift from the sea.

I’ll let my imagination soar and apace,

Boundless spans, in a moment brace,

Meditating ’lone, beneath starry sky,

My wandering gaze, and whirling sky.

A calm shelter, beneath a maple tree,

Where I may lie; unchained and free,

Me a free soul; aimlessly I shall roam,

I love a tramp to be, without a home.

On a sweet morn’, a robin must sing,

On the floral twig, to hop and swing,

swish; and I saw canaries in the air,

Amid scents and beauty, free of care.

Winding streams, in the silvery sheen,

And water to reflect, the supple green,

Meandering fast, in the musical poise,

May transport me, to the mystic ploys.

Sailing thru foliage, wafts with rustle,

Silence will whisper, here’s no bustle;

My gaze fixed yon, that darts naught,

O Lord! To such a pass I was brought.

In the dead of night, mediating alone,

I’ll hear nothing, but sighs of my own,

A throbbing heart, ah my muse deep!

My pulse bounding, my flesh’s creep.

O whereto I watch, scenes gliding fast,

Ah the daytimes, to darkness shall last,

The mystic web; was subtly fantasized,

Mysteries teeming; all ravels and cries.

Some sense stole over me, and so given,

Far from the earth, whereto I was riven,

My stringed tears, and my eyes suffused,

With scented drops; my tresses imbued!

Of late a whisper, breathed into my ear,

A secret in holiness, I shalt have to bear,

Ah life and death; the light and the dark,

Meander together, by one furtive spark!
