Leave me alone

                 Leave me alone

My comrades! Let me go and tread 'lone,

I’m aching and gruesome, ah gone forlorn,

At odds with the folks, I prefer walk alone,

Met with estranged looks, silently I groan.

Hypocrisy and truth, are foes just the two,

Coming across both, aye the fake and true,

The souls far and apart, blunted and hushed,

Folk’s veiled faces, aye panicked and flushed.

Life’s short span, how longevity embrace,

The chances run, why reason loses grace?

In a flooded river, why to seek bricks dry;

Creature of mud and slime; why ‘twill fly?

life of tumult, where’s a touchstone to sift,

Allure and gambol flare, while hunger’s a gift,

Tyranny reigns flagrant, while freedom hides

Honesty shrinks; while betrayal takes strides.

How recapture the love lost? Looking askance,

Hunting a millet in an ocean, or just my trance,

Winds inclement, the sails are torn, O treasure,

Ruby pearl plumbs very deep, beyond measure.

Leave me in the wilderness; and pine away!

With my pale face, ashen lips and hair astray,

Listless eyes, deaf ears, and tremulous hands,

Withering and decaying! Alone in alien lands!
