The Dialogues

                     The Dialogues

And an island were thither, far and away,

Where feelings would; gambol and stray!

Happiness and sadness, vanity and love,

O all cozily together. and conflicts above!

Someone came, whispered in the dead of night,

The deluge is imminent, hurriedly take to flight;

The Sanity hadst packed off; and hurriedly fled

Sheltered in boats, but tears the Insanity shed

One bruised heart and ’lone! Aye stealthily gone,

Wrapped in the dark veil, ere the break of dawn,

The island sank deep and deeper, ’twas no more!

Insanity mused, soon it would be a forgotten lore.

Wealth passed by, her boat pompous and grand!

Insanity prayed, Oh richness, lend me thy hand,”

Wealth replied, ah silver and gold it beheld a lot,

O Insanity sorry! “Shall better live by thy own lot!”

Vanity were set to sail by, beautiful were the ferry,

Insanity yelled, “Why I linger thru days and eerie?

“O sorry” Vanity rebuffed! “Thou art so very wet,

Look to thy self and dare naught, me further fret!

Sadness hadst its turn; verily long drawn its face,

Insanity screamed, “Come and me to thy-self brace,”

“O Insanity,” said sadness gruffly, “I’m too grieved,

“What makes thee, such plans thou hast weaved.”

A gleam of hope, “O insanity come” an elderly voice!

“Who were that lady bountiful, making the choice?

How and who she was? My goodness and her name!

Insanity forgot the query, never wherefrom it came!

Insanity stunned but ambled, Insanity to Sanity went,

“To thee I come O my friend, just my regrets to vent,

Who that was? Why ‘twas Sanitycouldn’t help me!

The gloom shackles me so fast, ere I shall feel free!”

“Calm thy self and be at ease, ’twas just the Time,

That rescued me, and my vernal bloom in prime!

“How could Sanity be that kind? Ye enlighten me,

I’m sore about it! Restore me soon gone by glee.

Sanity smiled, the amber moonlight had soon spread,

For it had prevailed, and wiped away the grisly dread,

“Hear me Insanity! Time’s touchstone, darling mine,

Sanity vouched for Time, ah Insanity sullied thy shine!
