Life laid Bare

                     Life laid Bare

Life! The assembly of prismatic views,

Of changing shades, and its alien hues,

Somber and staid, the luxury and glee,

Now candid, then fathoms deep a sea.

Like a slender whiff of aroma in air lost

Dew drop to, the scorching Sun accost;

The colours of a rainbow, hurriedly fade,

The flurry of life; in filmy bubble was laid.

Water-laden clouds float, ah drained away,

To douse parched land, aye to the Sun stay,

On dunes gliding away, just the caravan like

The clouds scaling skies, on rots in the dyke!

Revelry, gambol and the wonted sport,

The avarice and greed, a few to quote,

Those snares and lures, the life falls to,

The cheat or a charlatan, the fraud too.

Sparkle, splendour and fleeing glamour,

Eloquence, style, and habitual candour,

All were driven away, to a ghastly shade,

Aye behold! How bare the life were laid

The charming beauty and the lure ’twixt,

The wit! Seeking cure, with curl and twist,

Through the mirewallow and ever wade,

Pomp and flare, stark bare the life is laid.

Amid furors and commotion, life may live,

Forsaking pipe and the lire, thru the sieve,

An embodiment of compassion, life made,

Pure and chaste, stark bare the life is laid.

This web ‘tween virtue and vice, just a line,

The subtle crux, each bearing invisible sign,

A little light in heart, calls the spade a spade,

However intrigued, stark bare the life is laid!
