Hushed Tunes

                 Hushed Tunes

Love! Are thou fantasy or just a name?

Call thou my fancy or just flitting fame!

A few endeared but others ye estrange,

Aye thou had invaded me; very strange.

Enticing me away by wont, or thy choice,

With the luring looks, or with thine voice,

Thou had worked close, thine magic stick,

Thy sweet drifts; wafting my heart’s nick!

Like the fading hues, on the crystal pane!

Thou had duped me, and allayed my pain,

The darkness of night, shall deliver dawn,

Flowers danced flippant, on a plush lawn!

Me a naïve wert taken in, as ye didst flirt,

Subtle magic drove, the blush and a hurt,

With my senses, my reason and sharp wit,

Inveigled with flames, ah of zest I wert lit,

I were burnt odd and in the fire of my own!

Aye my restless nights; and I as ever alone!

I’d wept flustered, and screamed truly mad,

Mhushed tunes, lyre silent and I wert glad.

A rumble and throb, in the desolate heart,

And He played the melody, with willful art,

A secret brewed fervent, divine and close,

With the majestic air; ‘twert scented rose!

Subtle light pervaded, bliss of heavenly trait,

Breathing hushed tunes, closing door of fate,

The gardens of paradise, should in vain seek?

Vindicating oneself, ah proclaim flaws above?

Melodious voice, ah across my humble walk,

And my fancy soared, now a heartening talk!

Singing and whirling, with my streaming muse,

My passions and my zest, to conquer my blues.

And on the flute; when my fingers shall play,

My hapless name breathed, shall in airs stay,

The mute tunes of my heart, painfully billow!

Merciless beneath a tree, of withered willow!

The sunshine and breeze of dawn, shall pass,

The past spans of unionlet mystery surpass,

The days of meeting, a tryst in desolate place,

Vanished into infinity, with the love and grace.
