A Beloved’s Betrayal
A Beloved’s Betrayal
Dolly! Giving him the sleepless nights,
Who did confer on thee such rights?
The sweet pain ah his heart’s throb!
Ah how stealthily thou did him rob!
Bogged down, he looked here and there,
In quest of thy bloom, same fragrant air,
Hanging about him always , his past days,
Confounded he roamed; in swelling haze!
The melancholic air, whispers unto him!
“What mystery? His face awry and grim,
The doll she were! Or a specter she was!
Of his sore heart; she’s were the cause!”
His lids drooping, and tears he had blinked,
Were thou treacherous? Had thou slinked?
Thy catching imprints; his life’s lasting lore!
With his whirling head, he fixed every door!
In the dire straits, aye wherever he could go,
He was pining away, aye thou were his glow!
You pictured, how illumine the worldly maze,
Charming him swift, to the brightening daze!
Thou were his fancy, or his relished love,
A fantasy he loved, ah everything above,
And he failed capture, thy pomp and airs,
Lonely soul, he didn’t see thru thy flares!
With thy imploring eyes, he sneaked away,
People call him names, and he steals away,
Ever astray on the lone alleys; of thy town,
Every track he’d trodden, on streets down!
In his solitude, in the wilderness all alone,
He recalled his memoirs, and were borne
To the unknown horizons, he were gone,
A flitting rose! He didst dote on and fawn!
His Rose a flitting bloom; chasing gloom,
Beside thee; some time and petite room,
Sweeter than honey, he’d chanted praise,
And lo on thee, he’d fixed his loving gaze.
Come thou; come soon, he’d again dare
With the same airs, and those smiles fair,
And with twinkling eyes, the same shine;
You wilt hear a script, deep in his whine!
