A Role of godliness

                 A Role of godliness

He wert sinking, under a gruesome yoke,

And singled out; amid the gleesome folk,

For he had stood firm, with all his grace,

Against mischiefsaye his resolute pace!

Against the unruly, wilful and arrogant,

The dupes, clowns and the extravagant,

Vagaries, deceit and the misadventures,

And avarice, greed and impish ventures.

His struggle sprawled, for decades three,

Folks spurted venom, and of shame free,

Never let a chance slip, but him to blame,

With slander and allusions, stain his fame.

Sheer ruthless cruelty, he bore the pain,

They hurled fierce, their might and main,

Blames and fiery innuendoes, their hate,

Packed with accusation, and times eight.

His words rang in ears, they heard naught,

Breed of evils, in mesh of mischief caught,

The vicious parade of evils, and blatant lie,

The wonted hallmarks; of their inward eye.

His ceaseless efforts, and the imminent war,

A fierce battle was fought; and verily at par,

Against their guiles; and the spiteful design,

Amidst wefts and warps, he wouldn’t resign!

A tiring and trying task, risks mounting high,

Ease, pleasure forsaken, his motto was high,

Alone at the crossroads, he did oft’ wonder,

Undaunted in the maze, he didn’t surrender.

Very eager to bite the hand that feeds them,

And they must lick the foot; that kicks them,

And they did themselves; the grievous wrong,

’Cause the life is a road! The tedious and long.

The hassle almost nears, a long awaited close,

They had trod paths, shall face painful throes,

Of shadows, those frightening and the dreary,

Sullen faces, faded color, of tears eyes bleary.

Ineptly, they lingered beneath the murky sky,

Deceit earned them each day; a death to die,

And leaving him some loose ends, just a few,

Which he tried align; in the sanguineous hue.
