The Trip Yonder
The Trip Yonder
A whit I’m; both in mind and reason's sea,
Yes, aspiring to nihility admist fanatic glee,
Apprehensions foiled and reasons flouted,
Tethered to whirlwinds, I'd never doubted.
My life was a dream within another dream,
A love lost! Shall I retrieve it now as gleam?
Akin to a reverie my hopes shall fade away,
Love smiled and I stared at reasons astray!
I dived into tempest on a tormented shore;
In the dead of night, the fright I will adore?
There wert yells and creeps as I sank deep,
How? I were alert and awake when asleep.
I’d grasped at a straw with a mighty clasp,
My dear Lord! O my salvation? I wilt gasp,
Lo in a twinkling, carried and thereto gone
Lo what? I eyed the Sun set at every dawn!
I'm disabled, and a tramp; yonder who cries,
Truth was unchained, an abyss and my sighs
Who'll unveil the mystery in an iota of dust?
Why from heavens had swung a brutal gust?
Over the twilight yon, I beheld worlds roll,
Hurt deep and ebbing away from the goal,
I knew not my bounds; whereto I shall go?
Steering to the Destiny let the winds blow.
Alone and silent in my privacy I tried to pry,
My stare set at the Unknown reigning high,
The breeze was quiet and a night very clear,
The stars were looking down, who'll appear?
I became alive, I was beaming all, ah in tears,
Temporality ends; and eternity swings in airs,
I were a flickering candle, and the gales fond,
Love's eager and mine eyes accosted beyond.
A day when my soul discovered itself alone,
From earth it sped and to the twilight flown;
Above mortal eyes, mourners won't intrude,
A winding stream in the Eternity I’d viewed!
